Modern slavery and human trafficking policy

 

Anif Care provides both domiciliary care and supported living services to clients across the Midlands area. We appreciate the great need for our services and pride ourselves on providing care that is both compassionate and dignified. We work closely with are local and national regulatory bodies, support services and the wider healthcare system.

 

This statement is made on behalf of the board of Anif Care and published with regards to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 which requires large employers to be transparent about their efforts to eradicate slavery and human trafficking in their supply chain.

Our policies in relation to slavery and human trafficking:

We conduct our care in a moral, ethical and socially responsible manner. We fully support the government and its initiatives to combat Modern slavery. We recognised our role in preventing the human trafficking and we are committed to ensuring our organisation is free from any form of abuse. We therefore annually publish this statement in accordance with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act. We clearly outline the steps taken to prevent Modern Slavery by our organisation.

Additional steps taken to date include:

People:

• We confirm the identities of all new employees and their right to work in the United Kingdom, and pay all our employees above the National Living Wage.
• We have the following policies and procedures which provide a platform for employees to raise any concerns regarding these issues.
• Employee Grievance, Whistleblowing, Care staff number of shifts, Recruitment and Retention, Supervision and Appraisal and Bullying and Harassment.

Whistleblowing at Anif Care:

• Anif Care has a Whistleblowing policy which allows any members of staff to raise concerns in an appropriate and protected way. We escalate any concerns for further.
• We provide thorough investigatory process in any instance of whistleblowing to ensure the validity of all claims and due diligence is done for any parties effected parties.
• During induction all staff are trained in proper whistle blowing procedures.

Procurement and our supply chain:

• Anif Care has a well-established risk assessment programme in place. We respond to risks highlighted in our robust audit programme used to evidence compliance with the Health And Safety At Work Act 1974, this audit programme ensures we are also able to adapt and change our risk assessment process to any new risks emerging.

• Anif Care has a zero tolerance towards modern slavery and human trafficking. Any identified concern regarding modern slavery and human trafficking will be escalated as part of our safeguarding policies and procedures, and reported to appropriate external bodies such as the police, the Care Quality Commission, or the relevant local authority.

Training:

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business this policy forms part of the induction process for all individuals who work for us. Regular training will be provided on the policy and the risk our businesses face from modern slavery in our supply chains as is deemed necessary. Our employees are encouraged to identify and report any potential breaches of our anti-slavery policy and we have in place protection for whistle blowers.

We are proud of the steps we have taken to combat slavery and human trafficking and this statement is made pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 for the financial year ended 31 July 2022. The boards of Anif Care have approved this statement.
